Toby was chosen to be part of a team of performers assembled by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch of Improbable, to take part in a two-week development workshop for their production of Phillip Glass' opera at the English National Opera and the New York Metropolitan Opera.

With vast amounts of newspaper and large puppets, the team used improvisation to explore group mentality and coordination, producing both figurative and abstract imagery to accompany the hypnotic score.
